What Do I Really Need to Build a Good PC for Gaming on a Budget?

Hey everyone! I'm a complete newbie when it comes to PCs but I'm eager to get one. Initially, I thought about getting a basic prebuilt one, but after reading a lot of scary stuff online, I'm worried I'll end up with a faulty machine that leaves me even more broke than I already am! So now I'm trying to learn how to build my own, but it's all Greek to me—terms like GPU, CPU, and motherboard just confuse me.
I'm a 20-year-old college student on a tight budget of around $600 to $1,000, and I mainly want to play casual games like Fortnite, Roblox, and Minecraft, along with using it for schoolwork. What do I need to know to build a decent and efficient PC? I'd really appreciate any tips, advice, or recommendations!

First things first, check the system requirements for the games you want to play! They usually list the minimum and recommended specs, which include the CPU, GPU, RAM, and storage you’ll need. But honestly, if you’re feeling unsure, going for a prebuilt system might be the best bet. A solid prebuilt should last you through college—about four years—before it becomes outdated. You can always build your own later on!
