I usually shy away from using Foxit or Adobe Reader due to their ads. It's just annoying.
I don't really get why everyone insists on APIs. It just ties you to the service and you risk a sudden shutdown. A library that you can run locally would be way more reliable.
I mostly work with Poppler tools and Ghostscript for my PDF needs, so I’m not really looking for an API.
Honestly, I’d lean heavily toward a local solution rather than a web API. I prefer running everything on my own server without having to depend on external services.
