Hey everyone! I'm putting together my first PC build and I'm looking for feedback. I've compiled a list of components, which you can check out here: [PCPartPicker Link](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QmmVPJ). I've selected these parts based on various recommendations, and while the part picker site indicates they're compatible, I'm curious about how well they work together overall. Specifically, I'm worried about potential bottlenecks, particularly regarding the RAM. This PC will mainly be used for gaming, but I'll also do some productivity tasks—nothing too intensive like video rendering or heavy AI work, mostly just running Python for data science and some virtual machines on a Unix OS. I'd really appreciate your thoughts and suggestions!

It looks like you're off to a great start! However, I noticed you’re using 1x16GB of RAM, which might not be enough for gaming and multitasking. I’d recommend upgrading to 32GB (2x16GB) of faster DDR5 RAM to avoid any bottlenecking. For better performance and compatibility, consider swapping out some components—like the CPU for a Ryzen 5 9600X. You can get similar performance for a better price with a proper cooler and upgraded motherboard. I’ve made some changes in my build suggestion too!
Overall, your component choices are decent, but I think a few adjustments could improve the performance greatly. The RAM situation definitely needs a fix—go for 2x16GB of 6000MHz RAM to take full advantage of your AM5 build. There are also better cooler options that are more cost-effective. It’s important to balance your memory with a solid SSD—don’t overspend on high-end SSDs unless you need them for heavy data transfers!
I agree—many people won't notice the performance gap between different SSDs unless they're doing heavy-duty tasks like video editing!
Thanks for the tips! Was the GPU change to ASRock mainly for compatibility with the motherboard, or just a price point adjustment? I assume the other options are similarly priced?
