What does the “Whea Uncorrectable Error” mean and how can I identify the broken component?

Hi everyone! I have an old laptop that I've not used for a while, but I want to get it working again for outdoor use. When I turn it on, I sometimes get stuck at the BIOS menu, and the Windows Boot Manager doesn't start. Once I manage to use it for a while, I encounter a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) with the error code "Whea Uncorrectable Error". I believe this is a hardware issue and suspect that the NVMe drive might be the culprit. Is there a way to pinpoint which specific component is failing? Thanks for your help!

Definitely consider sharing the minidump files you found! Those can really help in identifying the problem component. The analysis might point directly to what's failing, whether it's the NVMe or perhaps something else like RAM or the motherboard. Just look for the recent ones, and we can go from there!

To diagnose the BSOD, you'll want to check for dump files that Windows creates when it crashes. If you can boot into Windows or Safe Mode, go to C:WindowsMinidump and see if there are any files there. If you find some, zip them up and upload them to a file sharing site. Multiple dump files would be best since they can provide us with more insights. If you don't have any or just one file, follow the guide to adjust your settings for better dump file creation in the future. This could help us nail down the issue!
