What GPU should I choose for my PC build under £300, and can I game at 1440p?

I'm building my first PC with the goal of playing AAA titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Warzone while achieving moderate to high FPS. So far, here's what I've got:

- CPU: Ryzen 7 5800
- Motherboard: MSI B550 (AM4)
- PSU: 750W 80+ Gold
- Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD
- RAM: Deciding between 16GB or 32GB based on my budget
- GPU: Not selected yet

I'm planning to primarily game at 1080p, but I'd like to know if I can also manage some gaming at 1440p within a GPU budget of £250–£300 (about $315–$380).

Here are my questions:
1. What GPU would you recommend in my price range?
2. Can I achieve decent FPS at 1440p with a GPU in this budget, or should I stick to 1080p?
3. Is 16GB of DDR4 RAM sufficient, or would it be better to go for 32GB?
4. Does my overall build look good, or do you suggest any changes?

As this is my first build, I'd greatly appreciate any insights you have!

If you're sticking to 1080p, the RTX 5060 or RX 9060 XT 8GB is a good bet. For 1440p gaming, you're going to want at least the RX 9060 XT 16GB, which is right on the edge of your budget. As for RAM, 16GB is generally good enough, but if you can swing it, getting to 32GB might future-proof you a bit longer. Also, consider Intel's latest 14th-gen CPUs like the i5 14400F for better performance with your DDR4 setup. Just make sure your motherboard supports it!

For your budget, I'd recommend the Asus DUAL OC GeForce RTX 5060 8GB, priced around £280. It's solid for 1080p gaming, but if you're eyeing 1440p, consider switching to the RX 9060 XT 16GB, although it might push your budget a bit at £380. Also, I'd stick with 1080p unless you get a dedicated 1440p GPU since gaming on a 1440p monitor at 1080p won’t look great. As for RAM, 16GB is plenty; it's become the minimum standard for gaming, so you should be good there. However, if you're gaming mainly, you might consider downgrading the Ryzen 5800 to a 5600 to save some cash for that RX 9060 XT.
