I'm looking for hardware recommendations for running Windows Server 2025 in a mid-sized company with around 300 employees. We're planning to operate two virtual machines: one as a domain controller and the other as a file server. Currently, we're using a Dell PowerEdge R350, but it's out of warranty and we're considering upgrading. Any suggestions?

Honestly, since the workload isn't too heavy, you might be fine sticking with the R350 for now. That server can handle it, but if you're set on upgrading, make sure you choose something that meets your needs without overspending.
Consider checking out refurbished servers at xbyte.com. I've had great experiences with them and have purchased quite a few servers there. They offer solid options!
If you can, I’d recommend running at least two domain controllers. It helps avoid taking down the entire domain when you need to perform updates.
But if your whole domain relies on one file server, how could you update that without downtime? It's a similar issue, right?
True, but I’m planning to use system state backups, so we should only have minimal downtime if everything goes smoothly.

Any specific models you would suggest from there?
