What Linux Distro is Best for Gaming on a Low-End PC?

I'm considering a switch to Linux to improve my gaming performance, and I'm looking for recommendations for a distro that suits my low-end hardware setup. Here's what I have:

- Intel Core i5 4590
- 10 GB DDR3 RAM
- Intel HD Graphics 4600 with around 512 MB VRAM
- 110 GB SSD
- 500 GB HDD

I'm thinking about dual booting and have already tried Mint with the XFCE desktop, but I noticed a significant drop in FPS. I suspect it might be due to my GPU's support for Vulkan, but I'm unsure which distro would be best for my setup. Any advice would be appreciated!

If you're looking for the best performance, I’d suggest Solus. It’s user-friendly and uses Wayland for better graphics support. You’ve got to avoid the KDE Plasma versions since they tend to be heavy on resources. I have similar hardware and switching to Solus really boosted my gaming performance!

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely check out Solus!

For gaming, your current hardware isn't going to deliver great results. Consider hitting up local thrift stores for an upgrade; older machines are often available for cheap. It's a more effective way to spend your time than troubleshooting with this outdated setup.
