I'm looking for a good NVIDIA driver that won't cause my computer to crash or give me a black screen when I start it. I've been trying to play Skyrim SE, but I'm facing a lot of issues. Currently, I'm using Xserver One, which allows me to play the game but it's extremely laggy. I've also tried NVIDIA drivers 470, 570 open, and 580 open, but they really mess up my system. Driver 535 works well, but I can't get Skyrim to start with it. My setup includes a B450 Aorus motherboard, an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor, and a GeForce RTX 3060, all running on Linux Mint Cinnamon Edition. Any recommendations for a reliable driver?

It sounds like there might be some configuration issues with your setup. I’ve been using the latest NVIDIA drivers without any major problems. Are you sure everything’s installed correctly? Also, have you checked your video settings within the game? Sometimes the lag can come from there, too.
It might also be worth looking into how the distro was set up on your flash drive; that can cause problems if it wasn't done right.
You're using Linux Mint, right? That might not be the best choice for gaming. You could consider switching to a more modern distro like Bazzite, which tends to work better with newer hardware and drivers.
Have you thought about trying Pop! OS instead? A lot of people report better performance with it!

I've followed the tutorial on YouTube for setting up Linux, so I think that's all good.
