I'm searching for a remote desktop solution that supports virtual sessions on Windows Server 2022 without interfering with concurrent RDP sessions or the hardware connected to the server. I want to avoid options that use console sessions entirely. Lately, I've faced difficulties connecting to my lab's RDP workstation from my MacBook. The Windows app doesn't support UDP, and every workaround to enable relative mouse mode has failed. I've looked into NICE DVC, which is great, but it only supports virtual sessions on Linux. Just to clarify, I have RDP set up on a Windows Server 2022 with the Desktop Experience, and we have enough user CALs. While I connect from my MacBook on the same network as my server, the Windows app seems to lag significantly compared to connecting from a Windows PC.

Have you considered Microsoft Remote Desktop Services? It might fit your needs for concurrent sessions.
Are you saying that multiple RDP sessions can work, but you're running into licensing limitations? It sounds like you might be interested in a multi-user graphical setup for Windows, which could be a cost factor for you.
Has the Remote Desktop app stopped functioning on your Mac? That might explain the issues you're experiencing.
I should have been clearer about that; I edited my post to refine the details.

I actually do have multiple user CALs set up, but lately, it seems the Mac Windows app doesn’t handle UDP properly which is causing the mouse lag, even on the same switch.
