What should I do if my CPU usage is stuck at 100% while idling?

Hey everyone! I finished building my computer about a year ago, and recently I've noticed that my CPU usage is showing 100% even when I don't have anything running. When I check the task manager, the individual applications are using lower percentages, but the total still hits 100%. My computer seems to perform fine, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Also, I've had some other issues in the past, like my USB ports not working and not being able to click on icons (which was fixed by reinstalling Windows). I'm just feeling a bit lost here, any advice would be appreciated!

You should definitely check your build components first! High CPU usage at idle can indicate a problem. Open your task manager (Ctrl + Alt + Delete, then click Task Manager) to see what programs or processes are using your CPU. Click the CPU section to sort by usage and find out what's eating up resources. Knowing your hardware can help too, so list what you have!

Here's my setup: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 4.5 GHz 8-Core Processor, 32 GB DDR5 RAM, B650 motherboard, and a Gigabyte RTX 4070 GPU. I might be missing my SSD details; I took it from an old laptop, so I’m unsure about that.
