You might consider the Ryzen 7 5700X3D for gaming because of its high 3D cache, or the Intel i5-12600KF if you're leaning towards Intel. Most B550 boards are good for Ryzen CPUs, just ensure they support DDR4. I can't really advise on Intel boards, unfortunately.
Yeah, good luck trying to grab a 5700X3D without paying an arm and a leg! It used to be around $180, but now it’s a struggle.
Go for the Ryzen 5600X or above for solid performance. A B550 motherboard from Asrock or MSI would work well with it.
For your budget, the Intel Core i5-14600K is a good choice, and it’s close to €200. Alternatively, the i5-12600K or Kf versions are solid options too, though the Ryzen 5600 at around €110 offers great value if you can find one. Just remember to pick a DDR4 motherboard, not DDR5.
