I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card for gaming at 1080p and 60Hz with high settings. Currently, I have a GTX 1660, but with some recent games making ray tracing a minimum requirement, I want something that can handle that without breaking the bank. I'm open to AMD options and just want to make sure I'm making a future-proof choice. What are the bare minimum specs I should consider?

Considering your budget, the Radeon RX 9060 XT with 16GB is probably your best bet. It can handle most games well and fits the ray tracing requirements. Just make sure it’s within your financial range!
Selling a kidney might be my only option at this rate!
Don't just follow what others say. Buy the GPU your budget allows. If people are recommending something out of reach, it's not the right choice for you.
I'd steer clear of anything below 12GB VRAM, especially if you're considering the 7000 series from AMD. The bare minimum would likely be the Intel Arc B580, but be careful about compatibility with a Ryzen 5 2600 setup.
I've heard those Arc cards have issues with lower-end CPUs. Any recommendations for a decent match with my Ryzen?
My 5060 runs great at 1440p! The 12GB minimum for 1080p seems a bit excessive.
Aim for the cheapest current-gen GPU with at least 12GB of VRAM. Consider the RTX 40 and 50 series, or AMD's RX 7700 XT and up. Intel's B580 is cheaper but less powerful.
Why not just get a solid AMD card? They are pretty competitive!
What games are pushing for ray tracing anyway? My partner is using a 6750 XT for Cyberpunk at low RT and high settings at 1440p without problems. You might want to consider it!
I believe Indiana Jones and the new Doom are both pushing for RT.
It's on the pricier side, but I can swing it. Thanks for the tip!
