What’s the Best Linux Distro for a Gaming Setup on a TV?

I'm setting up an older Dell Precision with a 9th gen i7 and a 2060 graphics card for gaming on my TV. I want to focus primarily on emulators and Steam games (mostly Jackbox). While Windows IOT is usually my go-to because I'm familiar with the emulators and it's pretty stable, Windows can be a hassle for TV use. I'm considering Bazzite since it boots straight into Steam OS and supports emulators. Are there any better options out there, or should I just stick with Windows and consider something like LaunchBox?

Bazzite is a solid choice! It boots directly into Steam and is simple enough to use for a TV gaming setup. You won't have to mess with the keyboard much once you get it running. Just keep in mind that I wouldn't suggest CachyOS since it requires a bit more regular maintenance, which can be annoying if you're just looking to game.

If you're a beginner like me, I've been using Cachy OS for months without major issues. It pairs nicely with KDE Plasma, and I can control everything with a remote. Just a heads-up though, I prefer GNOME on Ubuntu when I’m not gaming; it's more user-friendly for my Mac habits. Do you think it would be worse for this setup?

I’d imagine GNOME works just fine, especially if you’re already comfortable with it. It might just depend on how well your remote can handle it.
