I'm trying to find the best Linux distribution for my old setup. Here are the specs: it's an Aspire 4736z notebook with a Pentium T4500 2.30GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM, an integrated Intel Mobile 4 Series Chipset GPU, and a 160GB HDD. I'll mainly be using it for studying and playing some games like Team Fortress 2, Garry's Mod, and Minecraft. Any recommendations?

Linux Mint is a solid choice! I'd recommend the Xfce version for better performance, but Cinnamon is also a good option if you prefer its look. If you're unsure, definitely lean towards Xfce though. Also, consider upgrading to an SSD; it makes a huge difference in speed!

I tried both Linux Mint XFCE and Cinnamon, but honestly, it felt too heavy for me. Minecraft 1.7.10 was getting only 20-30 fps compared to 60-90 fps on Windows 7.
