I'm looking to build a gaming PC for AAA titles on a budget of about $550. I'm not aiming for 4K 120fps, just good performance at 1080p on medium to high settings, possibly using FSR or DLSS. I currently live in Georgia and can get parts for the following prices:
- Ryzen 5 5600 for 280 GEL (~$102)
- Micro ATX AM4 motherboard for 200 GEL (~$73)
- 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 RAM for 120 GEL (~$43)
- Zalman Decamax 700W 80 Plus Silver PSU for 180 GEL (~$70)
- Zalman T4 PLUS Mini ATX case for 140 GEL (~$50-60)
- 2x Zalman ZM-AF120R ARGB fans for 40 GEL (~$14)
As for the GPU, prices are rough here. I can find an RX 5700 XT for around 450-500 GEL (~$160-180), but all the Nvidia options like the RTX 2060 and 3060 start from 600 GEL (~$200) to 1000 GEL (~$350+). I've found an RX 6700 XT for $180-200. Alternatively, I could get a RX 5600 XT for 380 GEL (~$130) since I have 400 GEL left for a GPU.
I've also seen listings on eBay for a RX 6600M at $100 and a 2080 for $250, but shipping and taxes might add extra costs. I'm weighing my options, especially since I've been PC gaming for the last three years, though getting a PS5 is very tempting since all my friends are into it. Any thoughts on the best approach for this build?

Don't forget that the PS5 has a subscription model for online play that you don't have with PCs. If you're playing with friends, that could be an ongoing cost to consider. Plus, many PC games also have offline modes or one-time purchases, which could save you cash in the long run.
If you can snag that 2080 for $250, that's a great deal! It's still quite strong for 1080p gaming, and you won't regret having that extra VRAM, even if it's not the latest gen. Just make sure you check if it runs cool, as older GPUs can get a bit warmer. This would definitely give you a solid boost in performance with the latest games at medium to high settings, especially with DLSS support.
Yeah, I agree! The 2080 will handle 1080p quite well. Plus, it's going to be way better than trying to cheap out on the RX 5600 XT, considering you have to live with your choice for a while.
Right? That's one of the reasons I'm leaning towards PC. Just hate the idea of paying monthly fees. But I do miss gaming with friends on a console.
