Hey everyone! I'm considering upgrading my gaming PC and would love your feedback on what you would do with a budget of $400. Here are my current specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600, GPU: ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 3060 Ti OC Edition 8GB, Motherboard: ASUS Prime B450M, RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) HyperX Predator DDR4 3200MHz, SSD: WD Green SN350 480GB NVMe, Storage: 1TB HDD, PSU: Corsair VS550 (550W), CPU Cooler: ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS, and Case: Aerocool Cylon RGB. I'm mainly looking to boost my gaming performance and overall system responsiveness. If you were in my shoes, what would you upgrade first? Do you think it's better to stick to the budget or spend a bit more for a more significant improvement? Thanks!

First prioritize the CPU upgrade. Sell your current CPU and GPU for about $250, then you can get a cheaper Ryzen 5 5500X or 5600 for around $100. With the remaining cash, look into a used 6800XT or something similar as an upgrade for your GPU. Your current GPU is solid, but the CPU is likely holding you back at 1080p resolution.
I think upgrading your RAM to 32GB and your CPU to a Ryzen 5 5600 would give you a nice performance boost. Just keep in mind that RAM prices are high right now, so it might push you over the $400 budget. If you want optimal performance, I’d say it’s worth considering a 5800X instead of the 5600 for a little more power. What do you think?
I agree with the upgrade suggestion! Is 32GB becoming the standard now? I must admit I went for it a couple of years ago just for a modded Minecraft server, but I haven't noticed a need beyond that.

Thanks for the detailed thoughts! Quick question: how big is the difference in gaming experience between NVIDIA cards with DLSS versus AMD cards with FSR? I’ve never used an AMD GPU before.
