What’s the best way to cool my SSD?

I recently got a Gen4 mid-tier SSD and I'm noticing that it's running really hot—around 110 degrees Celsius! My motherboard didn't come with an SSD cooler, and I'm struggling to find a reliable heatsink that isn't ridiculously overpriced. I found some cheap aluminum heatsinks (25x25x10mm) but I'm wondering if applying thermal paste and using four of those would be effective, or if I should just look for a random no-name heatsink instead.

First, is that temp in Celsius or Fahrenheit? Also, what specs does your setup have? Depending on your motherboard and case, airflow might be a big issue. If you're looking online, the $10 m.2 heatsinks should be fine as long as your case has decent airflow. Better than doing nothing!

Got it! I’m using a Mini-ITX case, which might explain the high temps.

I checked and Thermal Grizzly has a pretty solid SSD heatsink for around €17. After I installed it, my SSD temps dropped to about 50°C—huge difference! You might want to consider that instead of going for cheaper options.
