Hey everyone! It's been almost a decade since I built my last PC, and the tech is so different now. I'm trying to choose between the 9700X, 9900X, 9950X, and 9900X3D. I mainly game, especially on esports titles like CS2, but I also want to do some video editing and stream at 1080p. I'm hoping to build a PC that will last me 6-8 years. I'd also appreciate recommendations for a good B650 or B850 motherboard with decent WiFi and a good air cooler. Also, I'm thinking about pairing the CPU with either a 5070Ti or a 9070XT, but I'm still deciding. Thanks in advance for your help!

Honestly, if you’re gaming at 1080p, you’re wasting your money on a 5070Ti. Think about a 7800XT paired with the 9700X. Plenty of options for motherboards out there too, especially if you check PCPartPicker!

You say ‘e-sports’ like it’s a big deal. Plus, I wouldn’t want AMD to drop support for my GPU in a few years.

You might want to consider if the 9800X3D is even an option for you. It’s known to be great for gaming but not so much for anything else.

Yeah, I’ve seen it's not the best for multitasking.

The 9800X3D seems like the clear winner for you. I’m not sure why the list included the 9700X and 9900X3D without mentioning it. The 9800 outperforms the 9700X in almost every aspect except it runs a little warmer. For the motherboard, any B850 or X870E should work well, just steer clear of Asrock lately!
