Which CPU is better for a productivity PC: Ryzen 7 2700X or Ryzen 5 3600?

I'm in the market for a new PC and I found two used options for around £220, which seems like a great deal. My primary focus is productivity tasks and some light photo editing, with very minimal gaming involved (just casual games like Rocket League). I'm considering upgrading the graphics card in either setup. Here's what I'm looking at:

Option 1:
- Ryzen 7 2700X (8 cores / 16 threads)
- 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM
- GTX 950
- 1TB HDD (with PSU included, though it's not listed)

Option 2:
- Ryzen 5 3600 (6 cores / 12 threads)
- 32GB RAM
- RX 570 4GB
- 500GB SSD
- Corsair 750W PSU

Since I'll be improving the GPU and prioritize productivity over gaming, which option do you think would be the better buy? Also, let me know if there's anything else I should ask the sellers about these PCs.

I wouldn't spend too much on either of these if they're just first-gen hardware. If you can snag one for around £50-100, it could be okay, but otherwise, you might want to save your cash for a better secondhand option, maybe something with a newer GPU as well.

Thanks for the tip! I didn’t realize they were that old. I'll be picky about the price now.

Both machines are kind of dated, but the RAM in either is decent. I suggest the 3600 since it includes an SSD, which is way better than a 1TB HDD for performance. If you're focused on productivity, you might eventually want to upgrade to something even newer like a Ryzen 5000 series, but for now, the 3600 is a solid choice. Plus, it's still capable for light gaming.
