Which CPU should I choose for my gaming setup?

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU and I need some advice. I currently have a setup with 32GB of 3200MHz RAM, a Ryzen 5500 processor, an Intel B580 motherboard, and an ASUS PRIME B550M-A. My power supply is a COUGAR ATLAS Series 650W 80PLUS BRONZE. I mostly play games at 1080p, focusing on eSports titles, but I sometimes enjoy AAA story games. I'm trying to decide between getting a Ryzen 5700X or the 5700X3D. I found a deal on Amazon for an ASUS AMD B550 AM4 Compatible Motherboard TUF Gaming B550-PLUS along with the Ryzen 5700X for about $250. What do you think?

The Ryzen 5700X3D is a solid choice for your setup. It's the best gaming CPU you can get for the AM4 platform right now. You won't need to swap out your motherboard; it's just a simple CPU upgrade. You can usually find it for around $250, which makes it a great deal. I wouldn't bother replacing the motherboard unless there's another reason you want to upgrade it.

Nah, stick to the 5700X3D for your needs; it's perfect for 1080p.

What about the 5800X3D? Is it worth the extra cash?

You're on the right track with the 5700X3D. It's one of the best for 1080p gaming thanks to its extra L3 cache. The 5800X3D is a bit better but costs significantly more and might not be worth it for your gaming style. If you're seeing the 5700X usually around $250, then that's a great place to start! Just make sure you're ready for a quick swap since your motherboard is compatible.
