Which CPU Upgrade Should I Choose for Better Gaming Performance?

I'm currently facing a CPU bottleneck while trying to play games like Spider-man 2, BeamNG, and Minecraft. I'm considering upgrading my Ryzen 5 5500, and I've narrowed it down to two options: the $400 7600x3d bundle from Microcenter or a cheaper CPU like the 5800x or 5700x3d. I know the 7600x3d offers better performance, but I found a 5800xt for just $130. I'm feeling a bit confused about which path to take for the best gaming experience.

Honestly, I think you should just flip a coin. Either upgrade seems good, but I’m probably not the best person to ask about serious upgrades!

Both upgrade options are solid. It really just boils down to how much you're willing to spend and what performance level you need for the games you play. If budget isn't a huge issue, the 7600x3d is worth the investment.

I upgraded from a 5500 to a 5700x3d earlier this year, and it was a game-changer. If you can find the AM5 x3d bundle at Microcenter, I'd say grab it for the best performance and value. If you're leaning toward a cheaper option, the 5800XT would still give you a significant boost at a lower price, but it's tough to find 5000 series x3d chips for a good deal now.

What games are you planning to play? Your choice might depend on the kind of games you enjoy and your overall budget. Also, can you share your current setup? That'll make it easier to give you tailored advice!

I've been playing Spider-man 2 but had to quit due to poor performance without frame generation. I also enjoy BeamNG and Minecraft, which are pretty CPU-intensive.
