I'm looking to buy a GPU that can handle 1440p Minecraft with shaders. I've seen a lot of talk about the RTX 5080, RX 7900 XTX, and RX 9070 XT, but I'm not sure which one I should go for. For context, my CPU is a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and I have 32GB of RAM (2x16GB) with a speed of 6000MHz. Any advice for the best choice considering I'll be using shaders?

The type of shaders you choose matters a lot. Some are way more demanding than others. If you go with something like the Complementary shaders, even a good mid-range card like the 4070 Ti should handle it perfectly fine at 1440p. Just make sure your system is well-optimized with enough allocated RAM to Minecraft too!

Yeah, I've got a similar setup with a 2080 Ti, and it runs beautifully at 1440p using some heavier shaders.

That's some solid advice! I think budgeting for a quality GPU that matches the shaders you want is key.

All those cards mentioned should run Minecraft with shaders pretty comfortably! But if you're trying to save cash, maybe get a used 3000 series card. They still perform well, and you'll save a lot. Also, don't forget to consider your cooling and power supply capacity—those new GPUs can get hot!

Great point! I think user testing for a 3070 has shown it can still perform well with shaders, which is very encouraging!

And definitely remember to check what shaders you'll be using. It can make a world of difference in performance.

If you're primarily playing Minecraft with shaders, you really don’t need the RTX 5080. A 5070 Ti or even the RX 9070 XT could give you great performance for a lot less money. Plus, unless you're running super intensive shaders or mods, the 5080 is overkill. It might be smarter to save some cash and go for the 9070 XT, which offers solid value and performance.

True, I've seen the 9070 XT run Minecraft pretty well with shaders at 1440p without issues!

Yeah, I've also read that the 5070 Ti can handle it fine too. It really depends on your budget!

Honestly, if you want to future-proof your setup but don't want to break the bank, consider looking at the RX 7900 XTX if you can find it at a good price. It performs really well and can handle shaders nicely. But if the budget is tight, even a 5600 XT might do the trick for 1440p with some basic shaders.

Exactly! Many people underestimate how well older GPUs can do with Minecraft, especially with just shaders.

I used to run it well on a GTX 970, so it's definitely possible!
