I'm ready to switch from Windows and I'm looking for a beginner-friendly Linux distribution to use daily. I've been considering a few options like PikaOS, Mint, Kubuntu, Batocera, and Bazzite, but I'm unsure which one to choose. I'm hoping for something straightforward that doesn't require much messing around with settings, Wine, or the terminal. Any recommendations?

I had a great experience with Zorin OS. It was incredibly simple to download and install, and running programs was totally hassle-free. The interface is very user-friendly, especially on older laptops.

If you're looking for something user-friendly without using the terminal a lot, I'd recommend Tumbleweed. They've improved the GUI software to handle updates and installations, making it much easier. Plus, you can roll back updates if something doesn't go well, which is a nice safety net.

I’d go with Mint or ZorinOS. Both are solid choices for beginners without needing to dive deep into the terminal or configurations. Zorin also allows you to run Windows programs easily without fussing with Wine.

I tried Zorin as well, and it’s been really reliable for me. I found it very easy to navigate after switching from Windows.
