Which Linux Distro is Best for Gaming and Development?

I just got a new gaming laptop and I'm moving away from Mac and Windows. I'm about to start college majoring in computer engineering, and I also work as an AI engineer and develop apps with Flutter. I want to switch to Linux but I'm unsure which distribution would be the best fit for my needs. I'm looking for something that's stable, well-supported, suitable for development work especially in AI/ML and Flutter, capable of light gaming, and able to run all the necessary college apps either natively or through Wine/VMs if needed. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Debian is super stable but can be a bit outdated unless you update to testing or sid. LMDE might also be a good choice because it's Mint without the extra stuff that comes with Ubuntu. If you're feeling more adventurous, you could try Void Linux, but just be prepared for a steeper learning curve.

I'd suggest trying Ubuntu, Debian, or Linux Mint as they have large communities and solid documentation. These distros are pretty user-friendly and should support most of your development needs and light gaming.
