Hey everyone! I'm in the market for a new power supply to pair with my RTX 5070. I want to know which options are the best in terms of reliability and noise level. Here are the three power supplies I'm considering:

1) Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W Gold - TT Premium Edition
2) ASUS ROG STRIX 1000W Gold Aura Edition
3) Seasonic ATX CORE (V3) GX-850

Also, I have a brand new Corsair RM650x power supply that I haven't used yet. Would that be sufficient to power the RTX 5070? It has two separate PCIe connectors rated at 300W each. I've also found an adapter cable (12v-2x6) that I can buy. What do you all think? I need some guidance on what to do!

An 850W power supply is more than enough for your setup. A lot of online numbers have safety margins built in. My RTX 5070ti pulls about 350W at full load, and even that’s well within limits. Don't stress too much about it!

Check out this article for a breakdown of the best power supplies based on tests. Generally, 800W will be plenty for your setup. The ASUS model you mentioned is known for being quite silent, by the way.

But yes, the RM650x should also be sufficient. Just make sure to check how much power your CPU uses and how many PCIe ports you have in use. Here's a spreadsheet link for credibility: [link]

My CPU is a Core i5-12400F, and I have 1 PCIe port currently for the graphics card. I might add a capture card in the future, but nothing too powerful.

If you're looking at a 1000W PSU, I'd suggest getting one with a 0dB mode. You'll likely never hit 50% load, which means the fans can stay off for complete silence!
