Which PSU Should I Choose: Corsair RM1000x or ASUS ROG STRIX 1200W?

I'm looking to upgrade my power supply since I'll be getting a 5080 GPU soon. Currently, I'm using a Corsair 750i PSU that's over 10 years old. I'm considering two options: the ASUS ROG STRIX 1200W Platinum and the Corsair RMx Series RM1000x Gold. Both are compatible with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 specifications. Given that I've only used Corsair PSU before, I'd love to hear from anyone who has experience with these models. Which one would you recommend?

I had a ROG Strix Thor 1200W last year, and it was solid. However, I now use the Corsair RMX Shift 1200W and absolutely love it. The cable management is way easier thanks to the unique shifting outlet design, plus the cables are more flexible than the ones on the ROG Strix. Unless you're installing it in the upper chamber of your case, I'd say go for the Corsair—no overheating issues or anything like that!

Can't go wrong with either! If the price difference isn't too big, I'd go for the 1200W. It's just nice to have that extra headroom, especially with a powerful GPU.

The RMx series is known for its great value. The 1000W is more than enough for a 5080 even if you're planning to overclock. The Strix does have a nice aesthetic if looks are a priority for you. Personally, I prefer Corsair—I've got a ROG 850W myself, but my past experiences with Corsair PSUs have been amazing!

Even when overclocked to the max, 1000W should be plenty for that setup!
