Which RAM Should I Choose for My PC Build?

Hey everyone! I need some advice on RAM for my first PC build. I recently purchased the 9850X3D bundle from MicroCenter, which came with Crucial DDR5 32GB 6000 MT/s RAM (with timings of 36-38-38-80). I'm considering buying some reasonably priced Vengeance RGB RAM, also 32GB but with faster 6400 MT/s and timings of 36-48-48-104. I've heard that with X3D chips, the differences above 6000 MT/s don't matter much. I love the RGB aspect of the Vengeance RAM, but I'm looking for the best performance as well. Is the Vengeance RAM worth it, even with an AMD chip? I'm not very knowledgeable about RAM speeds, so I appreciate any help!

Just keep whichever RAM has the lower resale value, and sell the other one. You probably won’t notice a difference in FPS during gaming, so it’s not worth stressing over.

Good point! Thank you.

You might actually find that the Vengeance RAM could perform worse in benchmarks due to the higher overall latency. Just keep that in mind!

Interesting! Would that be the four numbers following the MT/s? My brain looks at the larger number in the front and turns off when looking at the four smaller numbers lol.

It’s likely to make little to no difference in performance. They’re so close that they’ll probably perform similarly, within 1% of each other in most real-world scenarios.

Thanks for your input! Thought as much but wanted to confirm.

Honestly, unless you're specifically hunting for benchmark scores, stick with the Crucial RAM. You probably won't notice any real-world difference in performance, so save your cash!

I figured as much, just wanted to get the thoughts from the ones smarter than me!
