For the past few years, I've been dealing with random thin stripes on my screen that resemble scan lines, especially while scrolling through YouTube. These lines appear out of nowhere and seem to cause image retention of thumbnails and text, but they usually go away after about five minutes. Recently, however, the issue has become constant, happening every ten seconds while I'm on YouTube. It's strange because these scan lines change depending on how far I scroll, which is super odd. I don't think it's my monitor since it doesn't happen when I connect it to a console or any other device, only when I'm using my PC for YouTube. I haven't noticed this issue on other websites or while gaming. I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software issue, so I'm looking for any ideas on what might be causing this and how to fix it.

One potential fix is to try disabling hardware acceleration in your browser settings. Sometimes this can interfere with how video is rendered, especially on sites like YouTube.

I can't seem to find that setting on Firefox anymore.
