I'm trying to shrink my C drive, which has a total capacity of 460GB. I'd like to create a new partition by reducing it by about 200GB. I've managed to shrink it by 15GB previously to make drive D, but now Windows is only allowing me to shrink it by around 11GB, even though I still have a lot of free space available. I've already tried disabling hibernation, turning off the page file, disabling system protection, running Disk Cleanup, and even turning off real-time protection. Despite all these efforts, the amount of shrinkable space hasn't changed. Does anyone have advice on how to successfully shrink my C drive beyond this limit?

I haven't dealt with partitions in a while since my drives are all 2TB or 8TB. But it's smart to keep them organized for better management, especially with all the gaming and programming software.
Honestly, I'm impressed you were able to shrink anything at all! It can be tricky with how Windows handles partitions.
I appreciate the encouragement! I just figured I'd give it a try.
It sounds like there might be some data preventing you from shrinking more. I suggest using a GParted boot disk; it's a great tool that often helps with partition issues like this one.
Okay, I'll give GParted a try instead.
How many partitions do you have, and is your drive set up as MBR or GPT? Sometimes the type can limit what you can do with partitions.
I have two partitions: C with 460GB and D with 15GB. The drive is GPT.
Right? I needed to manage it better. A month ago, I barely had 30GB free of 460GB because of downloads and cache. I spent a couple of hours cleaning up and got it to 250GB free.
