Why Are My Backspace and Enter Keys Acting Up on My Mechanical Keyboard?

I've got an RK61 mechanical keyboard that I bought about a year ago, and it's been working well until recently. The only keys having issues are the backspace/delete and enter keys. I'm unsure if it's a hardware malfunction or a software problem. I've already tried swapping the switch for those keys and checked that the keycaps are attached properly.

Here's what I've noticed about the keys' behavior:
1. They occasionally stop working.
2. They don't feel jammed when pressed; they feel normal.
3. When I spam the keys, they work about 2-3 times out of 10.
4. If I hold down a key for 20 seconds, it has a pattern: it works for 2 seconds, doesn't work for 5 seconds, then works again for 2 seconds, and the cycle repeats.

I can provide more information if needed. I'm not a tech whiz, so I'm not really sure what's going on. I've tried using a different keyboard, and this issue only happens with the RK61. I also make it a point to clean my keyboard regularly with a brush. Thanks for any insights!

It sounds like a hardware issue. You might want to take apart the keyboard and check the PCB for any damaged traces around the problematic keys. Sometimes, dirt or grime can create a short circuit there. Try cleaning it with some isopropyl alcohol; it could simply be dirty contacts causing the issue.

When you say you swapped the switches, did you actually desolder them, or did you just change the keycaps?

I meant that the keyboard has swappable switches, so I just swapped those out without desoldering anything. Do you think I should fully disassemble it to check the PCB?
