Hey everyone! I have six different barcode scanners, and I've noticed something strange. Some of them only read one type of barcode, while the others can recognize different codes. I'm trying to figure out if this limitation is due to the hardware itself or if it's a software issue. Here are some links to the specific barcodes I'm dealing with: https://ibb.co/CKs5Xsyh and https://ibb.co/zTvTkfgz. Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What exactly are you using to decode the barcodes? Are you just reading them as keyboard inputs or is there more to it? It might be worth checking if some decoder settings are missing from the scanners.
Both models you mentioned should be able to act like a keyboard input. It's a good idea to check the manual for each; they usually have configuration barcodes that you can scan to set up values for the scanner. It's odd, but sometimes certain settings like leading or trailing numbers might cause them not to read correctly.
It's possible that most barcode scanners can decode multiple types of barcodes, but they might be configured to only read certain ones. I recommend checking the manuals for your scanners. Try doing a complete reset on each one, then set them up according to how you intend to use them. That could resolve the issue!
If you have a Zebra scanner, use the Advanced Data Formatting Programming Guide to help you configure it. Honeywell has a similar guide too. Don't worry about messing it up because you can always scan a reset code and start fresh!
I’m using Zebra LS1203 and Honeywell 1202g primarily for inventory. Some scanners don’t seem to read the codes properly, while others do the job just fine. It’s really odd how it works!
