Why Are My Calendly Invite Emails Going to Spam?

I'm looking for some clarity on an issue with Calendly. Their email notifications from [email protected] are ending up in spam, and they seem to be pointing fingers at us and Google rather than taking responsibility. In my internal tests, I've noticed the headers show signs of being flagged as spam or phishing. Normally, I'd say this is a clear issue on Calendly's part, but my client relies heavily on these invites, and I want to make sure there's nothing we can do on our side before switching services. I suspect some misuse of Calendly's service might be leading to this spam issue. While using a custom domain would be a great fix, the $15K minimum for that option seems unreasonable. I'd really appreciate some constructive feedback on how to handle this situation.

Honestly, it sounds like Calendly is the problem here. I've had similar experiences with their emails going straight to spam, and it seems like they're not acknowledging how much their service is being abused for spam purposes. I recommend looking for alternatives if this continues.

Calendly is definitely facing issues with spam filters. They just can't keep up with the spam abuses on their platform. Have you checked if the emails actually pass SPF, DKIM, and DMARC? That might give you a better idea if it's something on your end or theirs.

It could also depend on who’s receiving the invites. If it's your users, you might consider adding them to a safe list. Also, I saw that MXToolbox is flagging Calendly on some blacklists, which could be causing the block. It’s worth looking into.

Have you tried analyzing the full headers of the spammed emails? That could give you more insight into why they're being flagged. If they pass all authentication checks, it’s likely a reputation issue with their domain.

Google’s been tightening their spam filters lately, especially after some phishing attacks linked to platforms like Calendly. This might be why their emails are getting blocked more frequently. Definitely check the email headers and see what's being reported.
