Why are my work emails getting blocked by Gmail as spam?

I'm using Outlook365 for our work emails, and our email domain has been facing issues where emails sent to Gmail accounts are being marked as spam for the past two weeks. Our IT team has stated that DKIM, SPF, and DMARC are all configured correctly, but they believe our email reputation is low. They've suggested sending emails to personal accounts to improve our reputation, but I'm curious if there's anything else I can do to resolve this issue. What might have caused this sudden change, and how can I fix it?

It’s crucial to ensure your email authentication is set up properly. Using sites like mail-tester.com can help. If that's all clear, then focus on your email content. Avoid attachments, use plain text when possible, and steer clear of links that might seem spammy. Ultimately, it's your recipients who will decide if your emails are spam, so watch for that!

Establishing a good reputation for a new email server can be tricky. If you're sending out a lot of emails from one account, consider changing your approach. If you're not using bulk email services like Salesforce, communicating with your team about this issue is key. They might have insights into better practices or tools that could help manage your communications without causing spam issues.

Definitely check if your domain has been blacklisted. I've dealt with a similar situation where our SPF settings were misconfigured, leading to frequent blacklisting. If you're not blacklisted, that's good, but double-checking your email authentication can be important too.

It sounds like your IT team is on the right track, but boosting your mail reputation does take some time. While sending emails to personal accounts is one way to help, you should also look into what might have caused the spam flags in the first place. Sending a lot of legitimate emails at once or having mail delivery issues could kickstart this. I'd recommend pressing your IT team to dig deeper into the root cause, as this doesn't just happen randomly.
