I'm having a tough time with a recently built PC using a second-hand graphics card from a friend, as the GPU fans are not spinning at all. This is causing my PC to overheat and reach 95 degrees, resulting in an emergency shutdown. Here are the details of my build and what I've tried:
**Build Specs:**
- ASUS TUF Gaming RX 3080 TI Graphics Card
- Gigabyte B550I Aorus Pro ITX Motherboard
- Ryzen 7 5800X CPU
- 32 GB DDR4 RAM from Kingston
- 850 watt Gold Certified PSU
- NVMe SSD
**Software:**
- I know about the idle 0 spin feature, but that's not the issue here.
- I've clean installed Windows 11, installed and reinstalled the latest drivers regularly using DDU.
- Also attempted to manually control the fans using MSI Afterburner, the NVIDIA app, and ASUS GPU Tweak, one at a time. While I can set speed manually, nothing changes—the fans don't respond.
- Automatic controls show the fans are spinning under load, but they definitely aren't.
- A software called Fan Control recognizes that there should be GPU fans to manage, but it can't calibrate them.
**Hardware:**
- I tested the GPU in both my own PC and my friend's, which suggests the GPU is the culprit.
- I reseated the GPU in its PCIe slot, replugged the power cable, and checked the fan connectors on the GPU board.
- A professional also changed the thermal paste and pads for me.
I'm really at a loss here and hope someone can help!

Have you considered returning the GPU? It might not be worth the trouble if it's faulty.

We'd prefer to save the GPU since it worked fine for him before.
