I've got a LAN port in my room that used to connect to the router we had in the house. This setup was great for my gaming consoles because it provided a faster connection and kept my traffic private. However, ever since we switched internet providers, I can't seem to connect using this port with a LAN cable. Is there a specific way the cables need to be configured between the main port and this wall port in my room?

It sounds like the new internet provider may have changed your setup. They could have switched out the router without connecting everything back the same way. It might be worth checking if the new router is properly set up to work with your wall ports.
Try connecting your cable to a different device first, just to rule out any issues with your PC. If that doesn't work, go to where the router is and plug your PC directly into the router. This will help you see if the issue is with the wall port or the new provider's setup; it should be straightforward to troubleshoot.
Exactly, if the router isn’t sending data to that port anymore, and you have a switch, try rebooting it. Also, check for any old devices still connected that could be causing conflicts.
Don't forget that the other end of your LAN cable needs to be connected to the modem or router. Go check that area and see if any cables are unplugged or loose; that could be your problem.
Yeah, if the connection isn't working, it's likely they didn't connect the new system to all the existing setups. Make sure to check if you've got extra cables lying around; sometimes those need to be plugged in correctly.
