Hey everyone! I'm dealing with a frustrating issue where my C drive fills up regularly, making some of my applications and system functions non-operational. I've got a laptop running Windows 11 with a 217GB C drive and a 2TB D drive. For ages, I've tried everything, aside from a full reinstall of Windows. I always install new programs on the D drive and have changed the default location for documents and downloads. I even set up symbolic links from the C drive to the D drive. Plus, I clean the C drive often using tools like TreeSize and CCleaner, but it still fills up over time. I know my C drive is small for a daily use laptop, but I'd like to figure out what I'm missing before considering an upgrade. Any advice from you tech whizzes? Thanks!

Have you checked what TreeSize is showing you? It might help identify what's actually taking up space on your C drive. Sometimes it's hard to pinpoint, but there could be files or folders you weren't aware of that are taking up a lot of space.
This might sound odd, but sometimes log files can grow uncontrollably. Have you noticed if a specific directory is filling up quickly? That could be the culprit you’re searching for.
I haven't found a specific folder that's overloading, but it’s a little of everything adding up, so it’s tricky to find the main issue.
Honestly, Windows can be a big part of the problem with how much bloat it has. They say you only need a minimum of 64GB, but updates can really stack up. You've been proactive about managing your drive, so upgrading to a larger SSD might be your best bet if you continue facing this issue.
I did look into it, and the space seems to be well spread out among folders like Windows, Program Files, AppData, and the Users folder. It’s odd because I haven’t installed anything significant on my C drive recently.
