I've been having some serious problems with my PC since November 2025. I always keep my drivers and Windows 11 up to date, and I take good care of my system, running Command Prompt commands like the SFC scannow and renewing my IP address regularly. I mostly play games like Baldur's Gate 3 and Hunt: Showdown and avoid any suspicious files, so it was a shock when I started getting random Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) errors.
I've checked my Event Viewer and found various errors like "update your secure boot" and "VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE." In an effort to troubleshoot, I updated my ASUS BIOS, enabled secure boot and UEFI, and ran disk checks. I even examined my RAM and graphics card. Despite all this, my PC continues to crash unexpectedly, sometimes without showing an error message.
I recently learned that Microsoft has halted support for older drivers and is shifting security protocols, which makes me wonder if this is part of a plan to push us to buy new hardware. Anyone else experiencing this issue? Below are my system specs:
- OS: Windows 11 Home
- Version: 10.0.26200 Build 26200
- Processor: Intel Core i7-9700K @ 3.60GHz
- BIOS: American Megatrends 1.F0, 08/07/2024
- RAM: 16GB
- Graphics: Intel UHD 630 & NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1070 Ti

I seriously doubt this is part of a Microsoft conspiracy. It sounds more like a hardware or driver issue, especially if your components are getting older. And while it’s good to keep everything updated, sometimes older hardware just isn’t supported anymore. You might want to consider a clean Windows install if all else fails!
Have you checked for any dump files? If you're able to access Windows, take a look in C:WindowsMinidump. These files can give more insight into the BSOD issues. You can zip them and upload to a file-sharing service if you find any. We'll need those to analyze what's causing the crashes!
Yeah, getting those dump files will help a ton. A lot of times, they point out exactly what's gone wrong.
It could also be some malware causing these problems. Even if you think you're safe, it's worth running a full system scan just to be sure. And remember, making changes to BIOS can lead to data loss, so always have backups before trying anything drastic.

Absolutely! A fresh install can sometimes do wonders if things are getting messy. Just back up your data first!
