Why does my PC shut down when I enable EXPO?

I recently upgraded my PC (everything except the GPU), and here are my specs: MSI MAG X870E TOMAHAWK WIFI, RTX 3070 Ti, Ryzen 9 9950X3D, and G.Skill 64GB DDR5 RAM 6000MHz (2x 32GB). Yesterday, I enabled EXPO mode for my RAM, and while my PC started fine, it shut down abruptly when I tried playing a game (Borderlands 4). This shutdown is a new issue since enabling EXPO. I've also read that the Ryzen 9950X3D might only support RAM speeds up to 5600MHz. I'm pretty new to PC building and learning as I go, so any help would be appreciated!

It sounds like you might be experiencing some instability due to the RAM settings. Have you tried updating your motherboard BIOS? Newer versions often improve compatibility, especially with RAM. Also, ensure your RAM is installed in the recommended slots as per your motherboard manual. If you feel comfortable, you might even try some manual overclocking with minor voltage adjustments, which could help stabilize it under load.

I did unlock the RAM to 6000MHz initially, but I didn't realize EXPO wasn't enabled until later. What do you mean by 'short sticks'? And yes, I checked that the RAM is in the correct slots. I'll look into updating the BIOS, thanks!
