Hey folks! I've noticed something interesting when I open the Brave browser. My Task Manager is showing over 20 `brave.exe` processes running, even when I've only got a few tabs open. Some of these processes are using quite a bit of memory—one is over 700 MB! I'm really curious about whether this is normal or if there's an issue. I know Brave is based on Chromium, but is there a reason for so many processes? And is there any way to cut down on them without hurting performance? Just for context, I have a few extensions installed, I'm on Windows 11, and I'm using the latest version of Brave. Would love to hear your thoughts! Also, while we're at it, is Edge better optimized for Windows compared to Firefox or other browsers?

It's all part of Chromium's design, so it's expected behavior. Don’t worry, it's just how the browser operates!
The reason you're seeing so many `brave.exe` processes is that Brave is built on Chromium, just like Chrome. Each tab, extension, and sometimes even the main browser itself runs as a separate process to improve stability and performance. So it's pretty normal to have a lot of instances running!
Yeah, it’s pretty much the same with Firefox too, each tab has its own thread. Even extensions may do the same.
Got it! Thanks for breaking it down.
Honestly, Edge is essentially Chrome under the hood too, so it's not really better optimized than Brave in that regard. They're all using the same framework.
Thanks! I had no idea it was standard.
