Why doesn’t my new PC detect the Ethernet cable?

Hi everyone! I just put together a new PC using a Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX V2 motherboard, but it isn't recognizing the Ethernet cable at all. This is puzzling because the same cable works fine on my old PC with the router. Here are the symptoms:

- The Ethernet connection shows no status.
- There are no blinking lights on the LAN port when the cable is connected.

I've already tried a few things:
- Installing and reinstalling the LAN drivers.
- Restarting the PC multiple times.
- Removing the CMOS battery.
- Checking the BIOS for any LAN-related settings.
- Plugging the cable into different ports on the router.

Wi-Fi works perfectly, but the wired connection just won't cooperate. I'm at a loss — could this be due to the motherboard, a BIOS issue, or something else? Any suggestions would really help!

Some Wi-Fi adapters can automatically disable your Ethernet. It's worth trying to disable Wi-Fi at the device level to see if that helps.

Make sure to check the Device Manager under "Network adapters" to see if the Ethernet card is recognized. If there are any yellow triangles or error codes, that might be your issue.

You might need to install the Ethernet drivers. Sometimes Windows doesn't have the right drivers automatically.

Try making a USB Linux Live drive and see if the Ethernet works when you boot from that. It can help determine if it’s a software issue.
