I recently bought an Ethernet cable that's capable of 10Gbps, and my PC's motherboard supports over 1Gbps as well. However, I'm not seeing much of a speed improvement; I have an orange flashing light on the Ethernet port, and my internet speeds are barely better than before. I don't have IPv6 enabled on my PC, but I'm wondering if that could be a factor. Any suggestions on how to improve my connection?

It's also crucial to check that you're measuring correctly. Sometimes what you see in Mbps can be confused with MBps. Ensure you’re using speed test tools to get accurate readings across devices.
With the motherboard model you mentioned (AMD A520), it sounds like you might need to check your network drivers or even consider running a speed test directly on your PC to confirm it's not a configuration issue.
First off, what internet speed are you actually paying for with your provider? If you’re expecting faster speeds you might be limited by your plan, so it helps to verify that.
I'm on a plan for 250 to 400 Mbps, but I'm only getting around 70 Mbps on Ethernet.

Thanks for the tip! I just checked and I get about 61 Mbps on my phone and 72 Mbps with Ethernet.
