Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my gaming PC. While I'm in the middle of playing games, the system just shuts off unexpectedly. I hear a clicking sound, and the only things still running are the fan lights. I'm suspecting it might be the power supply unit (PSU), but I wanted to get some advice on how to properly diagnose the problem before I spend around $100 on a new unit. Any tips or ideas?

Definitely sounds like a PSU issue to me. Hope you can find out what's causing it before buying a new one!
Are you using stock cables or did you get any custom ones? Sometimes that can affect performance too.
It sounds like your PSU could be the culprit. Have you checked the outlet or power strip you're using? Try plugging something else into that to see if it shuts off as well. Also, how often does this happen? If it's a low-end PSU, like one from a lesser-known brand, that might be where your issues are coming from. Let us know what PSU you have, and your PC specs too!
Yeah, that’s what it felt like. It's an EVGA 850W, but unfortunately, it's just out of warranty.
I guess 850W should be enough. Just making sure it's not a power supply that's too weak for your setup.
I’m using stock cables. I read somewhere that reseating the cables might help, so I'm trying that now.
