I'm puzzled about why Google Drive is using up 5.67 GB of my storage when I haven't saved anything there. I really need to conserve space since I can't afford additional storage right now. I've already deleted all the files I had saved on Drive, but it seems there's more going on, like issues with uploading images. Can someone explain where this extra storage usage might be coming from?

Google Drive has two modes: one that saves a local copy on your device for quick access (which uses up your disk space) and another that only downloads files when you need them. Make sure you're using the second option to avoid taking up unnecessary space.
Make sure your phone backup isn't enabled. Even if you think it's off, sometimes it still backs up files and media without you knowing. You can check this setting to prevent unwanted storage usage.
Check your Google storage breakdown to see exactly what's taking up space. Sometimes hidden files or backups can accumulate and you'll be surprised by how quickly they add up.
Don't forget that Google Photos also counts towards your Drive storage. If you upload any pictures, that space adds up. Plus, your emails in Gmail take up storage too! You should check how much space your photos and emails are using to better understand your total storage.
