Why is my iPhone SE heating up and draining battery so fast?

Hey everyone, I'm facing a tough issue with my iPhone SE (third generation). It doesn't have any visible damage and I've always kept it in good conditions—never left it in extreme temperatures or had any warnings about overheating. However, it gets extremely hot while using it and the battery drains rapidly. Just this morning, it was at 100% after charging, and after 30 minutes of casual scrolling on Reddit, it's down to 45%! I've noticed it heats up a lot, making it uncomfortable to hold. My battery health is at 87%. I often leave it on the charger overnight because it charges quickly. I visited an Apple Store, and they said the battery was fine. I'd rather not buy a new phone if I can avoid it. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks!

It sounds like your battery might be worn out or even damaged. Some older iPhone models have a common issue where the battery degrades, leading to overheating and fast drain. It's worth getting a professional to check it out. If you suspect it’s a battery issue, typically, even if the diagnostics show it’s fine, a replacement may actually help.

Is it common for iPhones to have these issues, or did I do something wrong? I’m careful with mine and don’t often keep it plugged in when it's fully charged.
