I've noticed that my laptop has been overheating and making a really loud noise from the fan, almost like a vacuum cleaner, whenever I charge it. This started about three weeks ago. I tried cleaning it out, but it's still super loud and gets very hot. It usually makes this noise for a minute or so before it cools down a bit. I've had my laptop for about 5 years now. Any suggestions on what might be going on?

Have you thought about changing the thermal paste after cleaning the fans? Sometimes, just cleaning isn't enough, especially if the thermal paste is old and worn out. It can really help with overheating issues if you replace it. Just be sure to disconnect the battery before doing any maintenance!
It's pretty common for laptops to enter a higher power mode when charging, which can ramp up the heat and make the fans work harder. This could be what's causing the loud noise. If your laptop is still under warranty, you might want to check with the manufacturer for a fix or just take it to a repair shop if the thermal paste and fan cleaning don’t help.
Oh, that's good to know! Thanks a lot!

I only cleaned it, but I did find a lot of dust in the fan, so I thought that was the main issue.
