Why is my motherboard’s DRAM light on with no display?

I've been experiencing a weird issue with my PC where the DRAM light on my motherboard lights up unexpectedly for about 40 seconds to a minute, and during that time, there's no display on my monitor. This has happened a few times, but then everything goes back to normal. I have an MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk WiFi motherboard and 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 RAM at 5200MT. My BIOS date is 2/20/25. I checked my reliability history and didn't see any errors. I'm curious if anyone knows what might be causing this because I haven't changed or updated any hardware recently that I think could trigger the DRAM light. Any insights would be appreciated!

It sounds like this might not be a RAM issue after all. It could be related to your display adapter instead, so make sure your video drivers are up to date. RAM can be finicky, and slight timing errors can lead to crashes, but if your monitor stays dark for 30 seconds, it’s more likely that your graphics card is having trouble.

Try reseating your RAM sticks—just take them out and put them back in to make sure they're secure. While you’re at it, you could test with just one stick of RAM to see if one is faulty. If that doesn't help, swapping the sticks around might reveal if one is causing the problem. And if you're still having trouble, it might be worth trying a different set of RAM to rule that out as an issue altogether. Another thing you could try is downclocking the RAM slightly. It may not affect performance much, but it could make a difference in stability.

That's true. If these troubleshooting steps are tough to replicate, it might take some time. I've found running a RAM stress test with benchmarking tools can help catch intermittent issues faster. You might want to consider that to speed up your diagnostic process.
