I've been having a frustrating issue with my mouse lately. A few months back, I noticed during gaming that it felt like my mouse was skipping movements. I initially thought it might be due to the report rate or outdated drivers, and I even bought a new mouse, but the problem persisted. Today, I finally figured out what's happening: when I try to move my mouse diagonally using just my wrist, it only moves side to side. However, if I use my arm to drag it, it moves diagonally just fine. I'm on Windows and I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software issue. Can anyone help?

It sounds like your mouse might have an angular snapping setting. This issue is often linked to the mouse's dedicated software rather than Windows itself. If you have a Logitech mouse, check it in G Hub or similar software for your brand. Did you switch the model when you bought a new one?
If you're able to post a video, that could help others see what's happening and troubleshoot better. Might give more insight into whether it's a setting you're missing or something with the mouse itself.

I switched from a Red Dragon M725 to a Logitech G305.
