I've been having a frustrating issue with my PC lately. It just started shutting off unexpectedly when I play games, even ones that aren't demanding like Roblox. The shutdowns happen just a few minutes into more intense games, like Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. This started happening suddenly last night after months of smooth performance without any problems. My PC is around 3 or 4 years old, and I haven't replaced any parts during that time, though I've cleaned it occasionally. Here are my specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
- RAM: 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER
- Storage: 111GB PNY CS900 120GB SSD, 447GB PNY CS900 480GB SSD
Interestingly, the PC also shut down while I was just browsing the web. I'm looking for advice on what might be causing this issue and how to diagnose it.

It sounds like you're dealing with temperature problems. You should check the temperatures of your CPU and GPU to see if they're within the normal range, and make sure your power supply is functioning properly.
Don't forget to check your PSU as well. I've had AIO CPU coolers fail, which could definitely lead to the problems you're experiencing. Keeping an eye on those temps with a hardware monitor is key.
I've recently faced a similar issue. For me, it turned out to be the AIO cooler fans not plugged in correctly, which caused a shutdown. Make sure all your components are properly connected, especially the cooling systems.
You should definitely try using a software heat monitor to check your CPU and GPU temperatures. If it just shuts off completely, that's a sign it might be overheating. A lot of pre-built systems have poor cooling, and poor airflow can really restrict effective cooling.
It does shut down and closes everything I had open. I was having overheating issues before when it was dirty, but I cleaned it and haven't seen any overheating alerts since.
Using MSI Afterburner is a great way to monitor temperatures while you're gaming. If you're not getting any error messages or blue screens before it shuts off, overheating is definitely a likely cause. You might want to check if the fans on your CPU cooler are working.
I haven't seen any blue screens or errors; it just turns off.

I'm not sure how to check those temperatures or even what the normal ranges are supposed to be.
