I've noticed my PC getting slower lately, even with basic tasks like browsing and file management. Here are my specs: Intel i5 12400F, 16 GB RAM, and an RTX 3060 Ti with 12 GB VRAM. I purchased this setup back in 2021 and perform regular maintenance every six months, including cleaning and formatting. I'm a bit frustrated because I've tried several operating systems, including Windows 10 LTSC and various Linux distros like Pop!_OS and EndeavourOS; however, I encountered performance lags and issues with certain games. Even the original Windows 11 has been disappointing, as some torrent downloads just won't run, crashing consistently. Other games like Fortnite run okay, but not smoothly despite dropping settings to low and hitting around 200 FPS. I feel stuck, especially since I'm somewhat knowledgeable about PCs and have exhausted multiple solutions. I'm really hoping someone out there has experienced something similar or can offer some insight!

It sounds like you're trying a lot without pinpointing the exact issue. Check your CPU temperature and usage, and keep an eye on your RAM usage too. Also, how full is your hard drive or SSD? If it’s nearly full, that might slow your system down.

Benchmarks show my FPS is fine, between 122 and 163, and my temps are below 75%, with about 132 GB free on my 256 GB SSD.
