Why is my PC still slowing down after replacing the PSU?

I've recently experienced my PC struggling with performance. Initially, I suspected an issue with the 12VPWHR cable connected to my 5070 GPU, and after reseating it, a power outage occurred in my house. Although there are no visible signs of damage, it seems like this might have affected something related to power. I've now replaced my PSU with a new one along with different cables and a power strip, but my PC continues to slow down unexpectedly. Task Manager shows GPU usage hitting 100%, but I can't pinpoint the cause. I'm happy to share more details in the comments if needed!

The PSU isn't the root of your slow performance issues. It's likely something else. Have you considered checking your RAM settings? Sometimes, settings in BIOS can affect how memory performs, and tweaked settings could lead to slowdowns.

Replacing the PSU probably wasn't the solution since that typically wouldn't affect how your PC slows down. If you're seeing 100% GPU usage, it may be due to a game you're playing or even something malicious—like a hidden miner. Check your task manager thoroughly for unusual activity!

I get what you're saying! I replaced the PSU because of the power outage and felt it was a good step, but it didn't help. As for the mining, I really hope that's not the case!

> Check your hardware specs.

* AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
* Asrock B650 LIVEMIXER B650
* ASUS GeForce RTX 5070
* 64GB DDR5 Fury Beast
* Corsair TX750M PSU (now replaced)
* Multiple SSDs

Your hardware seems solid, but make sure the RAM is running at the correct speed in the BIOS. Sometimes, profile settings can cause performance drops.
